History and Philosophy of Science and Science Education: A Symbiotic Relationship

This presentation provides an overview of the connections that have been made between the philosophy and history of science literature and science education research in the last twenty years. The purpose of this overview is to highlight emergent themes and connections that have been forged among these disciplines, identify missed opportunities, and offer a set of observations about resolved and contentious issues at the intersection of these disciplines. The presentation will conclude with implications and recommendations for future studies.
