Feminist values in service of the holobiont

I Discuss Helen Longino’s view of contextual empiricism and the constitutive traditional and feminist values in science. I examine the role they play in immunology and hologenome theory in a particular case, of symbiosis in the gut. My aim is to show how feminist values are used in a general context of uncovering a wider complexity of power relations rooted in science and present a strong example for their cognitive virtue. I conclude with the benefits and advantage of using feminist values in scientific study - both in creating new knowledge and understanding nature and in applying it for the better good.
