Tenured Position, K. U. Leuven
The Institute of Philosophy (K.U.Leuven) announces a full-time tenured academic position dedicated to teaching and research in analytic philosophy.
Requirements
The candidate should possess a Doctorate in Philosophy. He/she should be capable of doing research, and of offering a wide variety of courses in the field of analytic philosophy. More especially, the candidate
- should be familiar with research in analytic philosophy;
- must be thoroughly acquainted with one or other of specialization areas of analytic philosophy, in particular philosophy of science, epistemology or philosophy of language.
The candidate is expected to contribute to the research activities of the Centre for Logic and Analytical Philosophy. He/she must be prepared to teach courses and seminars in Dutch and English to graduate and undergraduate students both at the Institute of Philosophy and other K.U.Leuven faculties.
Candidates who do not yet possess a fluent knowledge of Dutch, which is required for the purposes of teaching and administration, are expected to acquire the relevant proficiency within three years of appointment. Initially, the candidate will be appointed to a rank corresponding to their educational experience and portfolio of published research. Candidates for this academic position should also apply for a BOF-ZAP Research Professorship (with limited teaching assignments).
The appointment starts on October 1st, 2012.
